Process
This project was both large-scale and fast-paced. So, as a beneficiary of the scholarship program being celebrated, I leaned on my relationship with the organization to tackle the pitch. I began by reflecting and drafting, which meant creating lots of iterations in pencil. The quote at the center of the piece, 'Uplifting Tomorrow's Leaders,' sums up what DMSF exists to do, and my journey through the program heavily inspired the imagery.
Innovation
I had never done a mural before, and when I started this project I was up against 13 professional muralists. But as a former scholar, I was able to tell the Daniel Murphy Foundation story from a unique and authentic point of view in their first high-profile PR opportunity.
Impact

This project had a couple of firsts. I had never done a mural before, so as far as canvases go, this one was the biggest. This was also the first time such an important mission was able to be seen by so many. So in a sense, in partnership with Jessica Ayala, who was also in my scholarship class, I was able to be a muse for the story of so many.
