Process
Since the TBG online community exists to reimagine Black women’s relationship with their mental health, fostering a sense of closeness using digital connection tools is a priority. Because of this, lettering––and its ability to communicate a human touch through the screen––is at the center of every visual asset. Kareracter continues to brand the Therapy for Black Girls Podcast and the Sister Circle community to attract, reach, and engage a large, relatively untapped audience through design.

Impact
While serving as creative director for all the existing brands, Therapy for Black Girls’ has been nationally recognized at many award receptions, including the Webby Awards, NAACP Image Awards, and the iHeartPodcast Awards. Today we continue to work with Dr. Joy’s personal brand, especially as she rolls out her upcoming book Sisterhood Heals: The Transformative Power of Healing in Community. Most importantly, this all Black woman team is making mental wellness more accessible, and continues to pave the way for Black women providers in the mental health and wellness field.
