I co-founded Let's Vibe, a human-centered design firm, with Diamond Greer Jones. We first met at a summer caddie program in high school and later reconnected during a girl's night. At that time, I was finishing college and Diamond had already graduated. During our conversation, we realized that women of color lacked resources to connect and develop professionally when transitioning from college to the next stage of our lives. We noticed that resources were typically available for those further into their careers and that spaces specifically for women of color were lacking. This inspired us to close the global leadership and equity gap. Rather than waiting for someone else to create the space and resources we needed, we decided to create them ourselves. Our mission at Let's Vibe is to provide women of color with the resources and support needed to achieve their professional goals.

Process

Diamond and I founded Let's Vibe with a self-funded approach, growing our community organically. As women of color, we both recognized the lack of resources available when transitioning from college to the professional world. We aimed to create a space where women of color could connect and develop professionally. I was responsible for creating all the branding and collateral, ensuring that they effectively captured the true essence of our community. Through our work, Let's Vibe became a platform where hundreds of women across various industries could unite and support each other in achieving their professional goals.

Innovation

Our work focused on women across the gender spectrum, and we also welcomed gender non-binary individuals into our space. Our community was diverse and included hundreds of women from different industries, including bloggers, designers, finance professionals, lawyers, and business owners. Our community also consisted of sponsors, partners, and clients.

Impact

Developing Let's Vibe provided me with a unique opportunity to learn and grow in a variety of areas, including leadership, community building, and public speaking. As our platform gained momentum, I was recognized for my work and became an Aspen Ideas Festival Scholar and programming advisor for the Obama Foundation. These experiences allowed me to connect with other thought leaders, exchange ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of how to drive positive change in my community. Additionally, my work with Let's Vibe has been featured on local television, and we were even featured in an article in Teen Vogue. These experiences helped to amplify our message and bring greater visibility to our mission of empowering women of color in their professional journeys. Overall, developing Let's Vibe has been an incredibly fulfilling journey, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided me to grow both personally and professionally.
